Where Dual Dreams Come True
Jean Webb's Gun Dog Training
Individualized Pointing Dog Training
My philosophy is to evaluate the dog and train or un-train according to their individual needs and ability. I work with any dog that wants to hunt. I believe that good training works with the individual, develops  innate talent and instills confidence.  Not all dogs are field trial champions or master hunters but I will see what they are capable of achieving and give you an honest appraisal.

Our farm is located just south of Columbus, Ohio. On it, I can work dogs in the wide-open flats, the tree lines, or get them to work with me through the woods.  It has been a great place for training-up gun dogs.

Most people elect to train so that they can enjoy hunt tests, field trials or a day's hunting. I will work with the owner on a customized basis -- either to coach them through their own training or to take their dog on myself for more intensive work.  I strongly believe that the relationship between the owner and their dog is the most important basis on which to form a training plan, so I prefer to work closely with the owner.

With a little guidance, all report that they have a fantastic time, with the highest thrill experienced by the dogs themselves.  After all, they've been afforded the grand opportunity to run afield and  'hunt 'em up'.
As a rule, dogs of the breeds listed here are definitely the happiest when participating in any activity involving birds. 'Bird dogs' they are, indeed!

  • Brittanys
  • Pointers
  • English Setters
  • German Shorthaired Pointers
  • German Wirehaired Pointers
  • Gordon Setters
  • Irish Red & White Setters
  • Irish Setters
  • Spinone Italiano
  • Vizslas
  • Weimaraners
  • Wirehaired Pointing Griffons

I will also work with other hunting breeds, either to develop their potential or to correct bad habits. I have worked with Labradors, Golden Retrievers and Poodles -- my only criteria is that your dog wants to hunt.
Our kennels are heated and they have large outdoor runs with a chain link cover.  The welfare and well-being of the individual dogs are my first priority. For example, dogs that are more comfortable sleeping in a crate are crated at night. If you have a type of dry dog food you prefer, please send it with the dog.
Private sessions are available to work with your dog, or for me to work with you and your dog. Just give us a call at 740-477-1561 or send an email to schedule an appointment.
